Essentials Oils For Asthma: A Natural Remedy That Actually Works

Many people suffer from asthma, a chronic condition where your air passages get constricted and swollen. So, the oxygen won’t be able to reach your lungs. When you have asthma, it’s important to start the treatment immediately.

One of the treatments you have is to always carry an inhaler with you. Besides, you also always need to keep an inhaler with you as you might get in contact with the things that usually trigger your asthma.

Despite this might not be a problem for many people, the fact that is unless you have medical insurance, your costs will be astronomical. So, we see more and more people trying to find a natural solution for their asthma.

Essential oils for asthma are not something new. And one of the best things is that they can indeed be beneficial and effective for asthma relief. Just like there are natural remedies for pain that work, there are a wide variety of essential oils for asthma. So, before you start using an essential oil for asthma, it’s important to sniff it first. This will make sure that you’re not allergic to any of its components. In case you are, just choose a different one.

Just like with natural remedies for pain, there are some things that you need to be aware of when it comes to using essential oils:

1: Always Use Carrier Oil:

You should never use the concentrated formula of the essential oil over your skin or you might see some rashes on your skin. Instead, make sure to dilute one or two drops of the essential oil you chose with one to three teaspoons of carrier oil. In order to avoid rancidity, you should only mix the essential oil right before you’re going to use it.

2: Using Essential Oils On Your Infants:

If you’re trying to help your infant to get better from asthma, make sure that you only pass the essential oil on their feet. This is the area that is the farthest away from their mouth and nose (air passages).

3: Using Essential Oils When You’re Pregnant:

In case you’re pregnant or suspect that you might be, make sure to use only those essential oils which are recommended during pregnancy.

4: When You Live With People With Breathing Problems:

This is a special case that you need to be aware of. Some essential oils tend to irritate a weak breathing system. So, you need to avoid using a vaporizer at home.

5: Keep The Essential Oils Away From Children:

Just like what you do with your pills, your essential oils should also be put in a safe place, where children can’t reach them. One single drop can be very dangerous.
